VOYA LAUNCHES PARTNERSHIP WITH CATAMARAN RESORT HOTEL & SPA AND THE LODGE AT TORREY PINES

CATAMARAN RESORT HOTEL & SPA

VOYA, Organic Luxury from the Sea, a seaweed based spa brand based in Ireland announces its partnership with two luxury spa resorts/hotels in the US this summer; Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa and The Lodge at Torrey Pines, a AAA Five Diamond Resort, both located in California. The Lodge at Torrey Pines is located in La Jolla, while Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa is located on Mission Bay in Pacific Beach.

A natural partnership both the organic environmentally conscious spa brand and the spa resorts dwell close to pristine coastlines, sharing an affinity for the ocean and natural treatments and therapies.
VOYA is a family-owned company based on the west coast of Ireland, an area famous since 1912 for offering healing baths using freshly hand-harvested organic seaweed. The brand consists of complete lines for face, body, hair and lifestyle, and has secured a spot in some of the world’s most exclusive spas and international resorts. The Walton family established the VOYA Seaweed Baths in 2000 to reinstate this tradition in the small village of Strandhill, after the last of the original bath houses was destroyed by hurricane Debbie in 1961.
As the popularity of the Walton’s Seaweed Baths grew and spread, more and more patrons wondered if there was some way they could replicate the experience in their own homes. As a result, in 2007, VOYA Organic Luxury from the Sea was established. The Walton’s worked with marine biologists, organic cosmetic scientists and dermatologists to develop a pure line of products that delivers the deeply hydrating, softening, detoxifying and collagen-stimulating properties of Atlantic seaweed. This particular type of seaweed found on the Irish coast naturally absorbs or metabolizes nourishment from the sea. As a result, seaweed contains countless minerals, vitamins and beneficial ingredients in high concentrations. In fact, no plant known has a comparable quantity of minerals and vitamins.

When seaweed is steamed, it produces amazingly luxurious oils. These oils (complex polysaccharides, proteins, minerals and vitamins) are naturally suspended in the water and as heat has opened the body’s pores in a warm bath, these oils are readily absorbed. The experience is highly sensual and thoroughly relaxing. Seaweed baths have been a great attraction for years, often used as a way of relaxing, relieving pain, and in more modern times, as a great way to unwind and de-stress. This is largely due to the detoxifying effects of the seaweed and recuperative effects of its high mineral content.
