PRINCE CHARLES AND CAMILLA GIFTED BY VOYA BEAUTY FROM THE SEA

Prince Charles and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall visit Co. Sligo

On May 20th, 2015, Prince Charles and Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall paid an historic and poignant visit to beautiful Co. Sligo. They were warmly welcomed into the Pierhead Hotel by Peter McHugh and his family, a lifelong resident of Mullaghmore and one of those most closely associated with efforts to rescue the Mountbatten party. It was in this private and intimate setting that the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were given a special gift from the seashores of Sligo.

Earlier in the day Neil Walton, from VOYA’s sister company VOYA Seaweed Baths was introduced to Prince Charles in Sligo I.T. They spoke in length about the company’s heritage and sustainable harvesting practices, Neil gave a detailed background on the 300-year-old tradition and the indigenous therapy of seaweed bathing in Ireland. Prince Charles was extremely interested in both the seaweed products and VOYA’s organic philosophy.

In the afternoon in Mullaghmore, VOYA’s International Business Development Manager Gayle Kelly then had the opportunity of personally gifting Camilla with a bespoke VOYA greeting card and a unique gift from sea. Gayle introduced her to VOYA’s organic skincare range and talked her through her personalised gift which contained an array of VOYA’s organic products including an aromatic VOYA candle, the luxurious Angelicus Serratus nourishing body oil, and Invigorating Seaweed Soap from VOYA’s evolution 2015 body range. The gift was similar in style to the recent St. Patrick’s Day gift box for the First Lady, Michelle Obama.

The Duchess of Cornwall commented on how she adored the unique zesty smell of the Invigorating Seaweed Soap and spoke of how beautiful the texture of the Angelicus Serratus body oil felt on her skin, as Gayle described to her the countless health and beauty benefits that can be gained from the high concentrations of minerals and vitamins that seaweed contains.

The Duchess of Cornwall noted she was already aware of the luxury skincare brand and was looking forward to bringing her new organic skincare products home.

VOYA hopes this organic gift is symbolic of healing and the warm reception the Royal couple received on their historic visit.

Founder of VOYA, Mark Walton said: “It’s a privilege to be given opportunities such as these, we are truly delighted that our beautiful, newly designed products made their way to Camilla and Prince Charles in honour of their historic visit.”
